In the opening to this story: The Kite Runner, Khaled Hosseini writes it in the first person; making up a character called Amir. By writing this chapter in the first person, it intrigues the reader to carry on reading and makes you think of some many questions throughout this. For example why did Hassan ring him up? What happened in winter 1975? Why has he been peeking into that deserted alley for the last twenty-six years? This makes it exciting, and makes the reader want to read the rest of the of the book.
