The King Was Brutal And Inhumane To The Dwarves
It is no question that the king was brutal and inhumane to the dwarves, he ruined their lives and that is why the dwarves are justified to their actions. The king sabotaged Hop-Frog and Tripetta’s life when he kidnapped them from their village. “Hop-Frog, and a young girl very less dwarfish then himself, had been forcibly carried off and sent as presents to the king” (Poe 2). The dwarves had done nothing but well before they were taken. His rational for taking the dwarves was: “Hop-Frog, in especial, was so inventive.” (Poe 2) The king is implying that the dwarves will make a wonderful mascaraed party and he won’t have to lift a finger.
