By using statistic, you will know what happens on the earth and what will happen on the earth -- you can predict the future. For example, according to the statistic, people has higher salary always have higher life expectancy so you can predict if the person has high salary, the person has high expectancy. Also according to the data from previous, we can also predict where and when will have criminal happen. Government can also collect data and analysis data of people that helps government better manage their countries. Also, according to the death and birth rate, “every moment dies a man, and 11/16 is born, and according to the rate of death and birth rate, we can predict the total population in several years. Statistic can also be used in people’s daily life. The height of the women has a approx. normal distribution so we can predict the range of women’s height of a country. We can also find out the median and mean of the women’s height. Because we have statistic, people found out that smoking rate reflects the rate of cancer -- people have smoking hobbit tend to have more likely chance to get cancer. By using statistic, you can find out many interesting discoveries in the universal so statistic is useful and fun.

Statistical data dates back to as early as Ancient Greek time, where it was introduced by John Graunt, William Petty and Pascal in the 16th century. It was then re-introduced by Gottfriend Achenwall in the 17th century. This was a very exciting time for scientists, astronomers and physicists alike as it raised the confidence and knowing that the laws of nature were not of divine intervention. As the years went on, new mathematical discoveries were made such as census data, economy, mortality demographics, and the International Statistical Congresses, which all led to changing its name to “statistics”.…

With this list of collected data, you could now know information such as the average age of death in 1749. The first analysis of the Tabellverket showed that the population of Sweden in 1949 was 2 million people instead of the 20 million they had thought. They found out that most women died in childbirth and many children died young, so the government took action to change that, this was a primary example of the use of statistics.…

Prior to assessing the curriculum for this course I anticipated the course would validate those perceptions and fears in the form of high level formulaic equations, and unfathomable theorems. To the contrary, statistics in part presents as a mechanism for analyzing a small sample of observations or a population in order to make sense of a broader slice of a particular group, population or system through the computation and numerical data. As comically articulated by Standard Deviants’ (n.d)., statistics appears to be more akin to a language test, as opposed to the structure, mythology and outcomes of a traditional math…

The first thing that puffs in my mind when I heard the word STATISTIC is that it was a very hard subject because it is another branch of mathematics that will make my head or brain bleed of thinking of how I will handle it. I have learned that statistic is a branch of mathematics concerned with the study of information that is expressed in numbers, for example information about the number of times something happens. As I examined on what the statement says, the phrase “number of times something happens” really caught my attention because my subconscious says “here we go again the non-stop solving, analyzing of problems” and I was right. This course of basic statistic has provided me with the analytical skills to crunch numerical data and to make inference from it. At first I thought that I will be alright all along with this subject but it seems that just some part of it maybe it is because I don’t pay much of my attention to it but I have learned many things. I have learned my lesson.…
