The Journey Of Odysseus In Homer's The Odyssey
The Odyssey is a story about a Greek God named Odysseus. His journey is to make it back home to Ithaca to his wife Penelope and his son Telemachus. But through his journey, Odysseus gets himself stuck on an island for seven years, which makes his journey back to Ithaca longer ways away. While Odysseus is away,his home was getting invaded by suiters, and if Odysseus didn’t arrive home before his son Telemachus had a patch of facial hair, Penelope had to marry one of the Suitors.But after twenty years Odysseus has finally arrived home to Penelope and Telemachus. But as Odysseus was away he had to go through a lot of islands to make it home.Here are some islands that Odysseus had went through to arrive home. A island that Odysseus went through was the island where a Cyclops named Polyphemus had lived .Odysseus invades Polyphemus's cave and gets trapped inside. Polyphemus eats some of Odysseus’s People. He offers Polyphemus shots of liquor. Polyphemus asks for more, eventually he had to many which caused him to go to sleep. Once they made it to the island, some of Odysseus’s men had decided to go look for food. A few minutes passed and one of his man came back to tell Odysseus that, a witch named Circe had turned his men into animals.So Odysseus decides to travel to Circe’s palace, but before he left he was given a pill that would not turn him into a animal. Odysseus had finally reached Circe’s palace and as soon as he entered he was gifted a drink that is supposed to turn you into a animal, but it didn’t. Circe was in shock, but she had tried to make him stay and she was successful.
