The Influences Of My Hispanic Culture

My Hispanic culture and ethnicity means more to me than just being able to speak Spanish. Being Hispanic captivates my personality and lifestyle from being raised in a Puerto Rican family. While my father is African American, I’ve always lived with my mother and her family, influencing me more with the Puerto Rican culture. The Catholic religion is very important to my family and culture, however I do not go to church that often. But, I do believe in all of the principles in ideas that are represented in my family’s religion. Along with spending time with family, celebrating both American and Puerto Rican holidays is crucial to for my culture. Holidays like Día de los Tres Reyes Magos (Three Kings Day) are important to my family and our religion. Aside from my Hispanic culture, volunteering to improve the community is a big part of my life and I really enjoy doing these activities.
