The Influence Of Ms. Flowers
Maya had many influences, though out her life such as her grandmother. But Ms. Flowers seemed to have the biggest influence in her life. The reason, she had a tremendous impact is because she helped prod Maya out of silence and strengthened her love for literature.

After Marguerite's mother takes her away to St.Louis, it's obvious that Maya experienced a tragic event. The event caused her to become withdrawn and silent. that changes when ms.flowers kind of takes her under wing. Ms. Flowers help her to come out of her shell by relating to Marguerite likes which is books. She teaches that just reading the words isn't enough, you have to infuse them with a voice.
