The Importance Of Writing In High School
During this semester I was able to realize that there is not such a thing as a bad writer. In order to progress in something, we need to develop our work. As a freshmen college student, writing is not my strength but my weakness. Fortunately, everything changed as I enter English 1005A. In this class, I was assigned different reading that had different subjects. In each reading, I was able to learn something new. From gentrification in America to feminism.
Having in mind that reading is not something that I like to do often because I find it boring, especially if is school related. In this class, I was able to actually enjoy the readings. One of my favorites was “I JUST WANNA BE AVERAGE” by Mike Rose. As I was reading this assignment I actually connected with him. I was not born in the U.S. and I also was put in a lower class in high school. I also have a teacher that help me thru high school by supporting me and believing in me.

The strengths that I develop along the way are probably a few, but I know that my level of writing change. The way I use to write in high school was way below average, and I would like to say that my level as of right now is average.
Honestly, there were a lot of challenges in this semester. I was absent a few times and this puts my grade in danger. I could of just give up a long time ago, but Professor Solis decided to give me another

My strengths are a writer derive from my enthusiasm for writing. I think that part of my abilities stem from my love for writing, because I actually want to hone my skills and perfect my craft. Were there a church where I could mount the pulpit and preach on my feelings about writing, I would be up there doing it. I have said that this is something I must do, and it is true, but as the .love you feel in your heart and your soul for what you are doing reflects in the quality of what you do. Thus, a baker who kneads dough with love in his heart makes a far better loaf than one who dreads what he does, just as a plumber who loves plumbing…

Over the course of the past three months, I have had the distinct pleasure of testing my writing capabilities through the Introduction to College Writing course. I have always had a passion for writing in all forms, but in previous years, the course work in grade-level English classes have been unchallenging of my writing ability. I have been heavily involved in Bonneville High School’s newspaper through journalism since my freshman year. This allowed me to strengthen my writing capability as I was drafting throughout the entire school year. I have never truly had to apply myself until I enrolled in English 101. Since the beginning of the class, I have faced various hardships while writing essays in unfamiliar styles, such as drafting a response to a scholarly article and synthesizing opposing perspectives. I have learned that I am more than capable in writing in different styles and that all of my work will be quality content regardless of the topic. I overcame the obstacles that have challenged me, and my essays exhibit that I am fully prepared to continue my work in English 102.…

My writing changed in many ways such as learning to eliminate unnecessary wording in my thesis, the use of synonyms, analyzing quotes and writing abstract to concrete thoughts or ideas. This Class not only helped enhance my writing abilities but to also better evaluate the writings of others and forced me to acknowledge the rigorous work of future courses in college.…

Hello, I’m Hannah. This is my freshman year of college, and this reflection is for my UWRT 1103 class. Overall I think that this is a successful semester. We have covered research skills, writing skills, and what encompasses the human experience. This class has also touched upon discrimination and ways to help solve those issues. I have learned how to do field research through my practicum. The best part of my practicum experience was becoming more acquainted with some of the people in my dorm. Another learning experience was the different forms of literacy. I learned that literacy doesn’t only have to do reading or writing. The best part of my literacy project was being able to practice my baking skills.…

People may think note taking is tedious, but is it beneficial in the long run? In my English 101 class, the first step of order was taking notes. It was not just notes on work, but on an activity, which aimed to help all the students along with myself to learn more about each other. I learned three things, which made me a better writer. Those were that taking notes in class helps me with spelling, the urge to find out more information, and helped with my memory.…

My strengths aren’t really much, because I don’t have lot of them. My strengths for writing include staying on topic, using examples, being organized, and good at explaining my problems and how I will address them. I was never good at staying on topic but I started being more careful with my writing. I make sure I never go off topic and talk about things that do not belong. I make sure that I am organized in my essay. For example, when writing my essays I make sure that I write about one thing per paragraph. Like when you are writing a persuasive, you have reasons for your essay. When I was in my English class, my teacher always said to use examples. Examples and evidence are the best thing to use in an essay.…
