A student's previous learning can be lost during that period since students during summer vacation don’t take time out of their vacation to study previous or future materials that will or has been taught. Therefore Anaheim should cut back on how early they release their students for vacation. They can use that extra month to prepare their students for their upcoming classes. Anaheim students lack basic fundamental math skills, especially in math and science, which prevents them from succeeding in their upcoming class. Furthermore adding on a long vacation decreases their math skills because they don’t practice.
