The Importance Of Leadership In FBLA
Hello southern area FBLA, I am Neha Arun, a sophomore at Carterville High School, and I’m running for Area President. With campaigning comes a lot of promises that aren’t followed through. I’m here to do what I say. Instead of saying that I want to fix a million different things, I will focus and build progress in steps. I don’t make empty promises. As part of FBLA, student council, student leadership council, youth and government, multiple musical groups, as well as other organizations in a variety of fields, I have learned a lot about leadership. However, experience is nothing unless it is channeled, and used to benefit others. My goals and the ideals I base my campaign upon are to elevate southern area so that it is a force to be reckoned

As President of FBLA you must be a well rounded, organized, and motivated individual. You have to have interpersonal skills and you have to be confident while still being compassionate. Being given this opportunity is something that I do not take for granted, because I believe that I am meant to help others through this role. In the past our chapter has been a very stagnant chapter and I plan to change this. Currently we are planned to host our high school's first Thanksgiving canned food drive. We will be donating these goods to the people in need in our community. This Christmas, we plan to do a "giving tree" (combined with FCCLA) and then donate the clothing we receive. We are also going to do a Christmas basket project this winter. This…

Waking up at five a.m. to go to a contest or even to travel is not what most teenagers would want to do on a Saturday morning. There are a few times when being in the FFA is not always smooth sailing. Waking up to put on the blue jacket and official dress is not what I pictured doing for the next 3 months. Wanting to run for state office, I soon found out that it was sometimes necessary to do. My decision to run for state officer in FFA has been caused through many things, the present officers and my advisors encouraging me, it being a great way to develop my leadership skills, and my passion for FFA.…

In this video, Bon Berwick, President of Emeritus and Senior Fellow at the Institute of Healthcare Improvement talks about the changes and the importance of leadership. In the last 25 years, the roles of leaderships have changed and expanded. Leadership is the main point of improvements. To improve healthcare, leaders can set in place the contact, support, encouragement, and vision that allows systems to improve. When the board goes to sleep or executive goes to sleep, the system goes to sleep as well. Board training, fellowship programs, and leadership development have been important in efforts to have a turnaround in the system and its leadership.…

Since the beginning of this school year, I have been visiting La Cumbre twice a month to help coordinate school events and elections and advise students about leadership. This experience has allowed me to make a difference in my community by helping students grow, while growing more myself. My hope is that, in the future, leadership programs involve all students. I believe that school leadership needs to be representative of all the demographic groups, not just the…

During my years in Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA), I have experienced novel challenges with officer duties, competitive event preparation, and chapter activities. In the beginning, more experienced members encouraged and lead me to find success in the organization, and as the school years have progressed, I have evolved to pass that same support onto others.…

Future Business Leaders of America members are taught to work toward their future occupational goals by job shadowing, interning, or working at jobs that are specialized to their desired career. This is exactly what many of our FBLA members are involved in. At the State Leadership Conference and the Southern Area Conference, members attended workshops by people and companies, such as Men’s Wearhouse, on leadership, campaigning, and dressing appropriately for business. These workshops provided new ways and methods of developing student’s knowledge and skills in order for them to be prepared for a career.…

I’ve decided to run for the LIA leadership team because I have seen the impact that the leaders this year left behind and I aspire to do the same. Latinos in Action has taught me many things including on how to work well with others and that there isn’t a dead end for undocumented students, like myself, after high school. Every time I step in the Lia classroom I feel like I’m part of the community and that I belong. As a member of LIA I hope that I can get the chance to become a leader. A leader should possess initiative, honesty, commitment, and many other attributes. I have initiative because during Junior high I was not encouraged by my family or others to join groups but seeing the impact that LIA has, I decided that I wanted to make a…

I truly take pride in being able to address this body of students today, not only have you all taken the leap into gaining a college education from a great educational institution like UGA but you have also decided to find time between your rigorous students to advocate for democratic values through participating in groups like the Young Democrats. In addition you have made the decision to align yourself with students who advocate for alliances for freedom of expression and protecting individual liberties through your school’s Gay Straight Alliance. It is not by chance that I am addressing this body of students because your city, state and country need your leadership, guidance and involvement in ensuring we stay on path that is inclusive of all people, a country where governments work for all people and a democratic party that looks to its young people as the future.…

    Being a Leader

Even though this might seem unrelated, the concept of enlisting others is somewhat similar to a popular debate among sports enthusiasts that revolves around the true value of a head coach or manager. This is so because some would say talent ultimately wins out on the field of play, while others swear by a belief in the system where talent can only go so far without the right person in command. Bringing this back to the world of business; is there a greater chance for a team of hard workers to succeed without a talented leader, or with someone who is respected and admired at the helm? Much like a sports team, the group needs a good leader to provide guidance, motivation, inspiration and oversight. Granted, a lack of these things will not immediately sink the ship, but overall success in the long term is far more difficult to achieve without that brilliant leader in control. Of course just as easy as it is to buy into that, there is the opposite side of the coin which overwhelmingly displays how impossible it is for a leader to succeed without enlisting others.…

I'm just another guy that grew up on the Southern California coast, I spent most of my time in school, surfing, playing water polo, swim team, and playing video games.
