The following methods were used in order for the successive completion of this research project with the inclusion of both primary and secondary research: 1) Primary Research
* This includes the distribution of ten questionnaires to the farmers to obtain their opinions on farming process. * Also farmers were being interviewed face to face to gather necessary information. * Field research was also conducted.

2) Secondary Research
* Together with the primary research, secondary research was also carried out with including the internet research to get the information`s on general perspective of farming. Library research was done respectively.

The aim of this project is to find about the various cropping done in Waituri Nausori and its contribution to the local economy.

A large value of the worlds agricultural products are not consumed by those agriculturalists that produce them, but are sold to non-agriculturalists and to others. The natural environment termed that the land is the farmer’s basic resource.

Waituri irrigation being located in Nausori also experiences similar obstacles in the successive growth of their corps. Farmers in Waituri irrigation have changed reserved land to farm land. It is a five minute drive from Nausori town to waituti irrigation. It is a rural area. There are about ten people engaged in dalo farming.

With the rising cost of living and upsetting weather conditions vegetable farmers have been facing a lot of challenges to plant and sell their produce in the local market.

Agricultural ministry of agriculture are calling on farmers to supply with quality dalo as demand for this quality is very high locally and as well as overseas. Locally grown dalo is becoming popular food amongst Pacific Islanders living in New Zealand, Australia and many other countries. Dalo is an important food for many diverse regions, providing food security and income generation. Dalo which is planted in Fiji is in high demand in overseas market because of its quality and taste. Hybrid varieties of dalo are ready for harvest between six to eight months whereas natural varieties mature between nine to twelve months after planting.
