My past academic experiences have not been the best. I was too focused on fitting in rather than moving forward into what I wanted to become in life. Although my grades say otherwise, I know I can do anything I put my mind to. Ever since I was a little girl I knew I wanted to become a veterinarian. Throughout high school many people tried to change my mind about becoming a veterinarian because of my grades. I would always say to them, " A grade will never define who I really am and what I can really do, You just can't push a fish to want to start walking when all it wants' to do is swim."     Both of my parents went to college and both of them also went on to get a post-graduate degree. To them a college education is a necessity to be successful in life. Neither one of them expects me to get into or go to Harvard or Yale, but they do expect me to go to a respectable college. Some teenagers often do not go to college because they must get a job to support their family. Thankfully my parents have always said that I do not need to get a job until after college.
