In administration, there are procedures that need to be followed relating to various aspects of the job including correct procedures to, answer the telephone, confirming tickets, dealing with outgoing mail, rooms as well as other procedures. All of the administrators procedures are kept in a file at the office area where any member of admin staff can revise them as and when necessary. In my work place, these general procedures cover a wide range of skills used within any administration such as how to deal with a telephone call and how to used the office printer. They are available on the system for any staff member to review.1.2 As a employee I am accountable to my employer. They have a right to see that my work is up to standard. Having a plan allows for my manager to see a quick overview of my daily tasks and allows them to check that I understand what needs to be done through out the day. It also helps to agree timescales and goals, and helps with performance managing.Planning skills allows me to be efficient and to successfull in my job.I have to be able to set and achieve targets and help others to do the same.1.3 The purpose for agreeing realistic targets for work is to keep everyone on task and focused, there is no point setting a target that is impossible to complete in the time scale given. Things will always get rushed and missed if the target is unrealistic. Work will not be done to the highest standard. However you should always push yourself at work. There should be a balance between the time it takes, how much work you have to do and making sure your work is to the highest standard. The effectiveness of any organisation depends on its workforce. Supervision is important in all work settings as a means of promoting managerial accountability. It also offers staff and their line managers the opportunity to identify any problems, acknowledge achievements, plan action together and improve motivation for improved individual and project performance. Supervision, whilst being a managerial tool and a key aspect of a line manager’s role, also benefits the employee. Soldier accountability is the one of the main responsibilities of the leadership in the Army. Whether it comes from the Non-Commissioned Officer (NCO) support channel or from the actual chain of command. The NCO support channel plays the biggest role in the accountability process. During any type of formation you will notice that the process starts with team leaders ensuring their team is all present passing the information through the squad leader to the platoon sergeant. there are many reasons why someone who is a soldier must always remain accountable of all the items that they are accountable for. When accountabilty is not being maitained the impact is far reaching. It affects not just soldier but the unit and also the entire unit's mission. It ties into many basic aspects of being a soldier such as discpline and army values. poor acountabilty degrades unit readiness. It takes away from a unit's abilty to respond to any situation. Accountabilty is needed at all times. It is needed during the normal duty hours of the day and also when a soldier is off duty and not currently working. Accountability is an obligation or willingness to accept responsibility or to account for ones actions. Those that are unable to be accountable are the ones that jeopardize the combat readiness of any unit. It is the understanding that everyone is going to do and is willing to do the right thing even when no one else is looking. Everyone is assigned tasks and details not only including your own job that you are expected to do and do right but hold others accountable as well as a system of “check yourself, than check your buddy.” Doing the job correctly and ensuring others do it as well and do it safely are all part of accountability in the military as it can be dangerous given the types of equipment and tools we use. As an example any tools and or equipment left unsupervised can be lost and or stolen. As such in that event if the tools and or equipment was left out instead of signed out the wrong person becomes accountable. Everyone is accountable for their actions. You should always act responsibly as well, not just yourself but everyone. We spend thousands of dollars for each person to be trained and when ready, the expectation at your permanent party duty station is that you are going to be accountable for your actions and you as an individual operate and, that everyone around you is going to do the same. It is what is not only taught but it is what’s expected from everyone. Being accountable means being dependable, showing up to work and to appointments on time, meeting deadlines, being at the right place and at the right time and doing the right thing at the right time. It is also to see if everyone showed up to work or where they are supposed to be. Accountability is not only for keeping track of other people it can also be for keeping track of money, gear, legal documents, and many other things. Accountability is also very important during deployments. Being deployed is a serious situation. Anything could happen out there. Your NCO must know where you are at all times. It’s a serious issue when someone is not accounted for while deployed.…
An example of why accountability is important can be shown with the Marines that work on aircrafts. From my knowledge they have to take accountability of their tools at least five times just to complete one job on the aircraft. Once before taking the tools to the aircraft, again when they get to the bird, during the job, when the job is complete and lastly once more when the box is ready to be put away. Sounds absurd but there’s reason behind the madness. If there was an incident where the personnel on the job were to lose a tool on the aircraft it can cause major damage to the bird or God forbid even put Marines at risk of injury or death. So why is accountability important to the US Army? Accountability is a very important part of an enlisted and an NCO's job. Accountability….What does it mean? Well this past month e lost two soldiers who are a part of our unit and voice of our unit pass away. Accountability is important and should not be taken lightly… A soldier lost his life a couple weeks ago, due to lack of accountability, and it hurt a lot of people. Accountability is very important in the Army. Accountability is taking responsibility for your actions and your items. By meaning what you say, saying what you mean, and doing what you say, when you say you will do it. By keeping track of all my items and equipment I can always be ready for anything that is needed of me by my country, my superiors, or other servicemen. Being accountable means being dependable. Where my country, my superiors and fellow servicemen can count on me in any situation. to know I will be there to do what is necessary. Taking responsibility for your own actions and equipment is what keeps things running smoothly. And keeps things from turning into utter chaos. Many things could have happened by me failing to adhere to my responsibilities. My wall locker could have been vandalized, or items of mine could have been stolen. The dictionary definition states: The obligation imposed by law or lawful order or regulation on an officer or other person for keeping accurate record of property, documents, or funds. In the military this goes double true for soldiers, accountability is one of the most important responsibility any soldier can perform. Accountability is a valuable part of military life. We as soldiers are accountable for every action we take and every decision we make. To be an effective soldier you must understand the power of accepting responsibility for the results you create. There isn't much asked of soldier, be in the right uniform a, be at your place of duty at the right time and maintaining accountibility of your senseitive items. Accountability in the army is important because soldiers as well as equipment, ammunition, food, water and other various supplies are vital to the operation and proper function of the army as a whole. So what is Personnel accountability exactly? Personnel accountability is a by name tracking system that manages the duty status and location of every single soldier assigned or attached to a unit. This tracking system also tracks the soldiers as they arrive to the unit, and depart from the unit for duty. Within all of these jobs you will find that accountability is very important. You will also find that within keeping accountability you will not succeed. Accountability is knowing the amount of items or people in which you are responsible for. Accountability is also knowing where the items and people are at all times. While knowing where everything and everyone is, you also need to keep record of everything. All the aspects of accountability are important because without it things would be in chaos.
