The Importance Of A Discourse Community
A discourse community is essentially a group of people that aggregate together at a time when their interest may meet. I’m a member of an immoderate number of discourse communities, as are others I’m sure. Interestingly, when I mull over what community I can say I find most attractive, there is almost no confusion on which community that is. Quite astonishing, really, since most would likely have multiple favorite discourse communities. It wasn’t until I thought deeply about this particular matter did I then discover the reasons for why this community struck out to me: the sharing of qualities.

The methods by which the discourse community I am describing communicates is unconventional, since much of that communication occurs by and large through text or group chats. Considering our frequent activities, which I will later delve into, it is no surprise we’ve selected text …show more content…
As a result, engaged in a bit of rumination. After mulling on that, I’ve discovered that what I find the most attractive about this community is it’s form of communication. In fact, if I could transmogrify every discourse communities communication of which I am a member into something diametrically similar to that of the one I am discussing, I would do it without hesitation. Not to mention, it is ripe with frankness and humor, both of which happen to be intertwined with my personal form of speech. Alas, I find this element to be rather infrequent amongst communities, so to find this is especially refreshing. In point of fact, if ever given the option of either doing away with the other communities of which I am a member and keeping this one, or to lose the community about which I am discussing while remaining a member of the others, I’m certain I would select the
