ABSTRACT OF THE PROJECT;
In modern day education, students are not supposed to be confined only within the learning in a classroom context. They are expected to explore the vast horizon of knowledge made available today through ICT. This paper explores the relationship between ICT and the performance of students at the diploma level. The research sample will be taken from a group of diploma students studying ,DBIT,DIT And DBA at JKUAT-Arusha Centre.

This research study will found the impact of ICT on the academic performance of the students in their studies. The findings also will reveal if the majority of the students are using ICT in the safe way or not the in their academic life. Moreover it will found in the research that the ICT access provided to the students

    The Internet started to boom in the 1990’s and has continued to evolve ever since.     The use of technology in higher education has become a very critical point in Schools, Universities, and many other learning institutions. Teachers, school educators however found it very helpful to increase the number of students attending colleges and provide a better way of learning. Mind you, students now can attend colleges no matter where in the world they are located. They can apply to colleges, register for classes and even attending the classes distantly. Despite all of those good things that are possible due to technology, some students fall deeply into using it in an abusive manner. They have become more and more dependent on technology to do their school works. In classroom, many students are armed with iPads, laptops, tablets and other electronic devices.
