The Hunger Games Vs Katniss
There are two versions of The Hunger Games a book and a movie. These versions will be compared and contrasted.

The book and the movie are the same in many ways. For example Peeta Mellark makes a statement to Katniss in the book and movie. “ I don’t want to be another piece in their games.’’ Also one of the main similarity is when Katniss volunteers for Prim her sister. The book and the film do differ and affect the storyline in little ways. For instance in the book when Rue dies district eleven sends bread but in the movie they started to riot but katniss doesn't know Also a big difference is when Katniss stung by the tracker jackers. In the movie and she was unconscious for days in the book she is slightly unconscious and Rue heals

Did you ever realize that the Hunger Games and Julius Caesar have a lot of similarities? Not just Julius Caesar, but also the whole Ancient Roman Empire itself. The Latin word “Panem”, the country the Hunger Games is located, means bread in English. To me, the Hunger Games is more of an advanced version with all of the same concepts of the former Ancient Roman Empire. There is an old Greek myth that exists where fourteen Athenian boys and girls are sent to Crete to fight for their lives to keep their city, like Katniss does to keep district twelve.…

They both take place in Capitol. Capitol is a highly advanced metropolis that holds absolute power over the rest of the nation. There are many reasons why I personally have enjoyed the film more than the novel. I believe that there is a lot of small details in the film that makes it that much better. An example would include when prim tucks in her shirt after she is called up on stage. Nowhere in the novel did the author give this small but powerful detail. Another example would include at the start of the film when it gave us an explanation of the reaping and what it stood for. We did get this information in the novel, but it took time to develop and at first in the novel I had no idea why prim had gave katniss a gift. Another advantage that the film has that the novel doesn't is the power to show us all the surroundings and even though the novel tries to describe it with words it doesn't give the same effect. I personally felt that i understood the film better than the novel because of the images.…

Both stories have mind blowing experiences. Tessie throwing a fit about her husband drawing the slip, then her getting it when they each draw one, and Katniss was fighting for survival in the arena. They also have similar plots, for they both are fighting and searching for their life. These two books are alike because the main characters both cared for their friends and family and didn't want them to suffer. Katniss didn't want Prim to suffer through the Hunger Games, and Tessie didn't want her family to either.…

More examples of the book and the movie being the same would be the characters and how the main character Cassie narrated. A book gives more details then a movie does. There were a lot more differences in Roll of Thunder Hear My Cry then sames. An example would be that Lillian Jean and Jeremy in the book were a Simms but in the movie they were a Wallace. Another…

In class we are learning about the dystopian genre. Dystopian means an imaginary place where people are unhappy and usually afraid because they are not treated fairly. In class we read The Giver and The Hunger Games. In the book The Giver they tried to create a utopia which means modeled on or aiming for a state in which everything is perfect; idealistic. There are three main similarities or differences that stood out in these books. In The Giver and The Hunger Games they were in a “dome” or a closed in area. Both of the main characters were chosen. Last, The Giver community was just living their lives and in The Hunger Games the tributes were fighting for their lives. These books were intense and fun to see what would happen next.…

The 2012 movie “The Hunger Games” is a fireball of a movie, in which the main character was based on Athena the Greek goddess. As Katniss is the modern day version, their story isn’t exactly the same. Athena got praised, while Katniss got challenged to keep her life. As Katniss Everdeen was in “The Hunger Games,” Athena was also known as independent, determined, and most of all wise.…

The basic similarities are a strong female lead and both take place in a dystopian society. Tris in Divergent and Katniss in The Hunger Games are two brave, rebellious sixteen-year olds, who endure an oppressive government and fight for the freedom of themselves and their society. The Districts (The Hunger Games) are set up from a failed civil war whereas Factions (Divergent) was set up more as a Utopian society. Districts are divided by resources while Factions are divided by personalities. Both books are very interesting and have grabbed the attention of young, teen readers (like myself).…

The plot in The Giver was straightforward. Lowry gives an indication as to what might happen next. She uses adjectives to describe different situations in the plot. The Hunger Games's plot was simple and understandable. It had many details that encouraged the reader to imagine what was going on. This novel was much more vivid that The Giver. Both authors have created their setting totally different. While Lowry's setting is a perfect community with climate control and no hunger, Collins uses more details to describe how rural and impoverished the main character is in her environment.…
