The History of Amazing Facts
-------------------------------------------------
History[edit]
Amazing Facts was founded in 1966 by Joe Crews in Baltimore, Maryland. Inspired by the success of The Rest Of The Story, hosted by Paul Harvey, Joe Crews' original objective for Amazing Facts was to reach out to both Christian and non-Christian listeners via daily 15-minute programs by opening with a scientific or historic fact, and how it applies to the overall Biblical messages.[1]Later, the program offered accompanying home Bible study courses, as well as books written by Crews himself. In 1987, Amazing Facts initiated a television ministry that has expanded to four programs as well as periodic evangelism series.
Shortly before his death in 1994, Crews invited Doug Batchelor to assume the position of President/Speaker, which he has held ever since. Today, the Amazing Facts radio program "Bible Answers Live" broadcasts mainly out of Sacramento, California each Sunday evening to about 155 national stations. Amazing Facts has also opened a Center of Evangelism and commonly hosts seminars using the same presentation model.
Amazing Facts has multiple evangelistic teams that host prophecy seminars around the United States. In 2008 Amazing Facts formed a partnership with Weimar Institute to offer health ministries.

In 1952, Benny Hinn was born in Jaffa, Israel. Benny Hinn was raised within the Eastern Orthodox tradition. His father was Greek, and his mother was Armenian. A little after The Six-Day War, Benny and his family immigrated to Toronto, Ontario, Canada. There he attended the Georges Vanier Secondary School, but left early. While being a teenager in Toronto, Benny converted from Greek Orthodoxy to Pentecostalism. He eventually joined a group of young evangelicals to sing with. In a 2004 CNN report on Benny, they made it seem like he was a religious fanatic. Benny was mentored and taught the bible by Dr Winston I. Nunes of Broadview Faith Temple in Toronto. On December 21, 1973, Benny took a charter bus all the way from Toronto to Pittsburg to attend a miracle service conducted by Kathryn Kuhlman. After moving to the United States, Benny traveled to Orlando Florida, where, in 1983, he founded the Orlando Christian Center. Soon, Benny began to claim that God was using him for healings, and beagin to hold healing services in his church. His services were then soon held at large stadiums and auditoriums across the United States and the world. The first Nationally televiced service was held in Flint, Michigan, in 1989. Benny then started a new daily talk show, during the early 1990s, called This is Your Day. The program first showed on the Trinity Broadcasting Network of Paul Crouch, who would become one of Benny's most outspoken defenders and allies. As Benny's ministry began to grow, praise as well as criticism from fellow Christian leaders also began to grow. Benny then stepped down as pastor of the Orlando Christian Center in 1999. He moved his ministry's administrative headquarters to Grapevine, Texas, while hosting This Is Your Day from a television studio in Orange County, California, which is where he lives with his family now. Under the leadership if Clint Brown, Benny's former church was renamed Faith World…

The way Balmer presented his findings was comprehensible, effective, and purposeful. He did not persuade his audience to believe one thing or another about the church, but after being presented with all this information, I feel negatively towards the Evangelical religion. Although own religion, Episcopalianism, and Evangelicalism both trace back to the Protestant Reformation, I see them as dissimilar and before watching this documentary, I saw them as equals. I see my religion as mild-mannered, accepting, and diverse, while Evangelicals seem to be determined, opinionated, and perhaps even cynical. The beliefs of, for example KWKY radio station, have strong feelings towards abortion, materialism, and creationism. My congregation believes in the free choice of a woman, sexual liberation, and evolution. However, I am from a very liberal town, Asheville, North Carolina, so perhaps this is just my congregation and not Episcopalianism as a…

The persecuted church as the topic, the film follows the work of Jesus in these countries and touched on themes of how Christians thrive in times of persecution, what Christian persecution means for Christians living in free governments,…
