The healthy vegetarian diet Vegetarianism is a good idea for anyone, whether young or old, sick or healthy. It is scientifically proven to enhance one’s lifestyle in many different ways such as improve overall health, improve or show one’s spirituality and beliefs, and for ecological and environmental reasons. Human beings do not need to eat meat in order to maintain good health because we can get our food needs from meatless products and substances. A vegetarian diet is much easier and healthier for our bodies because we are not made to be carnivorous with fangs and claws and our digestive system was not made to digest meat. More people have gained interest and adapted to a vegetarian diet to: eat the right foods, stay healthy, live longer, gain more health benefits, and reduce air pollution. The three types of vegetarians are lacto-ovo-vegetarian who eat dairy products and eggs, but do not consume meat. The second style of vegetarian is lacto-vegetarian who eats dairy but no meat or eggs and the third form of vegetarian is vegan who avoids all foods that come from animals. A vegetarian diet is healthier than a diet containing meat because of its higher content of fiber, folic acid, vitamins C and E, potassium, magnesium, many phytochemicals, antioxidant properties, and a fat content that is more unsaturated. The staples of the vegetarian diet are fruits, vegetables, legumes, grains, seeds and nuts. Vegetarians avoid meat, poultry, game, fish and slaughterhouse by-products such as gelatin and animal fats. Vegetables and fruit can help people avoid cancers and diseases, which contain abundant B12 to support heart and brain memories, iron-tariffed bread, cereal, seeds and nuts contain Vitamin C, D, E to provide energy reduce cancer lesions and improve our immune system to against diseases. Bitter vegetables and potatoes can help refresh our brain and beans can help human body detox which are easy to digest for our digestive system. Human body needs protein to survive and thrive so eating the right food and keep your health in balance is important to prevent illnesses and live longer. Vegan diets tend to contain less saturated fat, cholesterol and more dietary fiber. Vegans tend to be thinner, have lower serum cholesterol, lower blood pressure, and have a lower risk of heart disease. Protein can provide our total daily requirement, does not only comes from meat but also from many plant sources such as grains, nuts, seeds, beans, whole grains and soy products. Other good sources of protein from plants are legumes, nuts, seeds, soy beans and whole grains but they need to be eaten in combination to supply the full range of amino acids. Vegetarian diets, when carefully planned, can help reduce the risk for a number of common, chronic diseases such as coronary heart disease, Type 2 diabetes, and hypertension while providing your body with all of the nutrients necessary for you to operate with an abundance of energy and vitality. Meats contain saturated fats which form plaques inside arteries as it builds up along the arterial walls and blocks blood flow. Diets high in saturated fat have been linked to chronic disease, specifically, coronary heart disease and stroke. Eating large amounts of saturated fats can also increase your heart attack risk by increasing clotting factors, raising blood pressure, constricting arteries, increase risk for heart diseases, hypertension (high blood pressure), and etc. Intake of processed or red meat has a higher incidence of colon cancer, breast cancer, and esophagus cancer. Higher intakes of fiber and phytochemicals and lower intakes of saturated fat and cholesterol are among the factors responsible for the cancer-protective effects. A vegetarian diet can be high in fat if it includes excessive amounts of fatty snack foods, fried foods, whole milk dairy products, and eggs. Therefore, a vegetarian diet, like any healthy diet, must be well planned in order to help prevent and treat certain diseases. It is important, however, to plan your vegetarian diet so that you are consuming sufficient levels of all necessary nutrients. Being a vegetarian to benefit our body organs, helping and respecting the animals, avoid bird flu, decrease serious environmental problems such as climate changes, reduce global warming, air and pollution, water shortage, loss of biodiversity, make the world a kinder place, preserve Earth’s natural resources, improve productivity and quality of life. It is an easy way to save our earth and live happily with the animals. I want to preserve Earth’s natural resources and because I have always loved animals and I am ethically opposed to eating them. Thanks to the abundance of scientific research that demonstrates the health and environmental benefits of a plant-based diet, and the federal government recommends that we consume most of our calories from grain products, vegetables and fruits. All of the above reasons and many more have shown how wonderful vegetarianism is and will enhance anyone's overall life.
