Women are separated by the color of their clothing and social statues.

The commanders are seen as a big boss, the head of the household. The commanders are the ones who support the women of the home and make sure everything is going in order that it should be in. The guardians they are the busboys to the commander, he is the one who drives the commander and the commander's wife & handmaid places. The are many angels in the society of gilead they have multiple responsibilities based on their roles. There are angels who are made to be security at gates to check ID’s, there are angels who are driving vans that are for birth mobiles, protect the citizens and keep order in the society. Many guardians who are not assigned a household are the “eyes” to others being around the society they are the secret
