There are many similarities about the "Giver" in the movie and book. These are some of them. One similarity about "Giver" was both in the movie and book Jonas had learned about love and he liked it. Another one is, Jonas lied to his parents when they asked Jonas if he understood why the word love wasn’t used anymore. In the book Jonas and Giver come up with a plan on how Jonas can escape from the community the same thing happened in the movie. In both the movie and book a the same tragic event occurred, Jonas witnessed his dad killing a newborn because of that Jonas kidnapped Gabriel and ran away from the community. One last similarity is Jonas got good and bad memories from the Giver and Jonas gave some good memories to Gabriel. On
