Future of Tourism in Thailand
Between 2010 and 2014, Thailand was ranked number 1 as tourist most visited country in the world. The tourism industry in Thailand has been growing sporadically over the last decade, as many travelers choose Thailand to be one of their top destinations. If we are to look at all the past and present stats, can we conclude that Thailand Tourism industry has a bright future? What are factors that can ascertain a promising future? What are the incidents than can hamper the promising future? What other sectors are the biggest beneficiary of Thailand Tourism future?
No doubt that one of the biggest threat to Thailand tourism is political instability. But history has shown that Thailand seems to have its way of recovering from any ordeal. According to Andrew J Wood, National President of Skål International Thailand, “Tourism in Thailand has a great future. The hospitality industry has recovered completely from a chain of natural disasters and political disruptions and is now preparing for the advent of the ASEAN Economic Community, -

For the past sixty years, the world tourism industry development has been flourishing with growing economy and national income; therefore people have the ability to afford expenses such as travelling cost. For a long time Europe and North America have been the world's most popular two big tourist destinations. And Before the 1980s, the western developed countries is almost a monopoly of international tourism market, the number of reception and tourism income accounted for about 90% of the world total.
