When someone achieves the status of being a senior in high school there is one question that is seemingly mandatory to be asked. “Where are you going to college and what are you going to do with your life?” Until now, I really never had to think about what I want to do with my life or what I’d like to achieve. When I was younger I had dreams of being an eye-popping singer or a miraculous lifesaving doctor. Like every other person on the planet I have had dreams of things I would love to accomplish, but I know I will not. My dreams when I was a child are obviously nowhere achievable, but hopefully my goals on the other hand are. My immediate goals are to pass my senior year of high school and to go on to Cape Fear Community College and then hopefully transfer to a good university. Throughout the time of being a student, academics and good grades were at the very bottom of my list of things to achieve. I sincerely regret that and wish that it was possible to reverse time back and force myself to study and strive to succeed in my schoolwork. In the future I would like to have a job interacting with children. God had blessed me with the gift to guide and direct kids, and I use this gift every summer in a children’s sports camp as a counselor. My dream job would be to work in a church as a kid’s program director or to be a teacher. Getting married, having a house and kids of my own, and no school debt is also a goal I have set to achieve by age 30. As a child I never really thought of myself as important or special to anyone. I never felt like anyone believed in me. So I firmly believe that affirmation in our children is important in today’s society. I believe that if God gives us a gift, we should use it for His glory which is why achieving my goals is so important. In 1 Peter 4:10-11 the Bible says,”As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God's varied grace: whoever speaks, as one who speaks oracles of God; whoever serves, as...
