All four gospels written by Mark, Matthew, Luke and John all began with word of Jesus with his life works and his miracles, parables and teachings. These stories of Jesus from people who knew him were passed down orally and were passed down through generations and over time they became teachings and preachings. In 70 AD Mark was the first disciple to put the stories of Jesus on paper, this happened because the older people started dying making it harder to remember the stories of Jesus so they decided to put it onto paper as well as they thought Jesus was coming back which didn't end up happening in their life span, Mark's gospel is a major source for Matthew and Luke Mark's gospel is the shortest gospel which people say it was written in a
Jesus showed this by performing many miracles within his time on earth. A miracle that shows God’s power at play in Jesus is ‘Jesus heals a man with leprosy’ Mark 1:40-45. This miracle shows God’s power over sickness and disease. This miracle was written in Mark's gospel and was written for persecuted Christians and Gentiles, this audience was looking at the religion and was understanding and learning about it at the time. This miracle helps people to figure out that not only does God hold lots of power but God accepts all. People with Leprosy were usually despised in their community and seen as unclean, but because Jesus was helping this man, audiences were now able to see kindness and compassion in Jesus and God. This man in the miracle was affected the most. Not only was he healed of his disease but he was healed spiritually. This man could not only see the power of God but feel it. This man was externally healed but he his faith in God increased and his love and appreciation towards God increased.
