World War I, also known as “The War to End All Wars”, “The War of the Nations”, and “The great war”, is studied all around the world. Although WWI is taught world wide, historians still debate on the main cause of the war. Historians can agree that the main five causes of WWI were militarism, alliance systems, imperialism, nationalism, and assassination. These five beliefs and actions lead up to the disunion of the world . WWI was an avoidable war. The causes of the war were all connected. Without militarism there would be no imperialism. Without imperialism there would be no nationalism. Without nationalism there would be no alliances. Without alliances there would be no assassination.
