The Fims Plot
The fim’s plot is about a family of Mohican Indians who are on the side of the British colonists, fighting against the French. The Mohican Indians are Chingachgook, who is the father, and his two sons, Uncas and half-white son Hawkeye. There is also a British army major with two daughters, Cora and Alice, involved. They are with the Mohicans. Cora and Hawkeye start to spend more time together, and end up falling in love. This is against the views of many of the colonists and Mohicans, because it is an interracial couple, which was not common back then. Bloody Mohawk; is a fiction novel that consumes people whether scholars or Historians to read about the Native Americans that lived here in the Mohawk River Valley to the time the Europeans came and ravished all that the Native Americans had built for themselves in their tribes. The cover of the book is a picture of the French and Indian War, it is the Battle of Oriskany. The picture itself catches the eye and the summary on the back cover is nothing but intriguing to pull the reader in.…

Many ethnicities faced difficulties during the American Revolution. Native Americans chose to fight for the British or the Americans, in hopes that the winning side would reward land. During the war, the Iroquois Confederacy, the Mohawks, Onondagas, Cayugas, and Seneca fought for Great Britain, while the Oneidas and Tuscaroras fought for America. The wives of Loyalists, American colonists who remained loyal to the British Empire, suddenly found themselves alienated in a place they once called home. The single most interesting story in the book describes Loyalist Frederika von Riedesel, the wife of a German general who fought in the pivotal Battle of Saratoga. The von Riedesel family endured captivity, and long forced travels. Eventually, Frederika befriended Thomas Jefferson during a stay in Virginia and returned to Europe, with the good will of major players on both sides of the…

I very much enjoyed watching the film “Mary Silliman’s War.” The movie highlighted the story of a woman in the revolutionary war who lost her husband for an extended period of time. Mary Silliman’s husband, Selleck, was a state attorney in Connecticut, and was in charge of prosecuting Tories. Tories are people who’s allegiance still lies with the British empire, and Selleck’s job is to basically keep them away from the colonies by either sending them back to Britain or putting them in jail. However, when two Tories, Griswold and Glover, are sentenced to be executed, there is an uprising against the man who prosecuted them. So while Selleck gets sent away, Mary is forced to live at home by herself with her two children. She does have the help of her servant girl Amelia and her slave, Peter, but at the same time Mary takes it upon herself to ‘take control’ in a sense.…

The woman is under attack by the Sepoys and one of her slaves helps them run away. "Golab Khan, seeing our perilous situation amidst the increasing flames, and that every moment was precious, with his characteristic presence of mind and quickness, had suddenly thought of a plan by which to draw away the mob, who, after having satisfied themselves with all the plunder they could get, were every moment becoming more eager in their search for us. He boldly went up to them, won their confidence by declaring himself of their faith, and willing to give us up into their hands. He assured them it was useless to continue their search in the house; but if they would all follow him, he would lead them to a haystack, where we had been concealed." The family is safe in hiding but team up with other families to defeat the Sepoys. " Active preparations at the same time went on in organising a field force. At length all was in readiness, and the order for the march was hailed with delight; sanguine were our hopes that a fortnight, or at the most three weeks, would see our gallant little army on its victorious return. With many and oft-repeated good wishes and prayers, we saw them depart. On the night of the 27th May they marched…
