The Essence of Man
First, I would let my roommate know what I have a problem with. I would respectfully address each of his habits and ask that he make adjustments so that we may coexist peacefully and productively. I would make sure to tell him that I am willing to compromise. If that did not work I would have a second, more serious, discussion with my roommate. I would tell him that his habits are causing a serious problem for me and that there needs to be an immediate solution. At this point I would alert the faculty advisor in my dorm of my issue and keep him updated. If worst came to worst, I would not let my Andover experience be ruined by a roommate. I would let the faculty advisor in my dorm know that I could no longer put up with my roommate and ask to be relocated to another room or dorm.
It would be titled “The Hard Life”. The book would be an autobiographical novel that mirrors my own life. It would be the story of a young boy who came from a poor town in Ecuador. His parents would bring him to America to better his education. While he tries to work hard, he is often tempted by the challenges in his neighborhood, such as drugs and gang activity. Despite his struggles, he would pull through because of his determination. He would wait until the opportunity arose and then he would seize it. The novel would be an underdog story and could serve as an inspiration for children everywhere.

For my 1st quarter book report I read “Beyond Belief” which is written by Josh Hamilton. Hamilton is a Major league baseball player who now plays for the Texas Rangers and was named MVP two short season’s ago. Josh is a premier center fielder and the captain of his team, for the average person you may think Mr.Hamiliton lives the ordinary life of a sports star , the pretty women , fancy cars , huge house’s and the six figure pay checks. Even though this may be true, living an everyday lifestyle was extremely difficult for Josh throughout his whole life , you would think someone who is so well respected and idolized by many fans throughout the world would try to live up to his expectations, but that was not the case for Josh , he was addicted to cocaine and struggled with many other addictions such as alcoholism and having anger issues with his loved ones. Josh wrote this book to express his feelings and give readers a point of view on how thing’s may not also be the same as it seems. So next time you judge someone just by their appearance, financial situation or even idolizing someone just by the way they perform a certain thing, you might want to think that over.…

The topic I chose was the struggles Holden had to go through because of his rebellious attitude, but the way he found happiness not in money or success, but real life experiences. I think this is a good topic because it’s really the message I got from the book. That some people aren’t the same as regular teenagers that desire success in school and to have a big career. Holden goes through a journey of real life experiences to really find himself.…

The book my partner and I wrote is about Dickey Chapelle, a woman reporter in World War II and the events that she covered. This book is supposed to be a historical short story about an amazing woman that did very important things for World War II. This book promises the child reader to inform them about amazing events that Dickey Chapelle covered during World War II in a non gruesome way that is easy to understand. We used reliable sources to write our book so we knew the most important facts about our character and her life story. Our story mostly takes place in The United States when our character gets stationed in California, Massachusetts, Wisconsin, Missouri, New York and Washington. Our story also…

My proposal is about “American Street”, which I find an interesting because of Haitian culture that is shared in this book, the appealing storyline of a journey to find relatives, definitely caught my attention. I find this storyline better than my assumption that this was the story of a young artist, which could be a pretty awesome story. I'm sure that I will be satisfied with this book once I get the chance to read, and I can't wait to read about this Haitian immigrant and her story of settling in America.…

Even though I would safeguard most of the works in the chapter, I would insert the speech, “I Have a Dream” by Martin Luther King Jr. This particular declamation is very inspirational and marks a very important turning point in our history. Next, I would have an essay on the ratification of the Nineteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution. Being a woman myself, I am very grateful for this amendment. Another, the story of Anne Frank and her diary, which would include her first and last excerpts, would express the extent and importance of her indelible experiences during the Holocaust. Finally, the last to be injected would be photos from hurricane Sandy and the Derecho Storm that swept across the Eastern U.S to enhance the more current times.…
