'The Epilogue Of Dave's Good Times'

The majority of the tone of this book is depressing, sad, and lonely because Dave is telling the story of his abuse as a child. But during the chapter “Good Times” and the Epilogue the tone changes to happy. In the chapter “Good Times” it reflects upon the once picture perfect family before his mother found alcohol and started to abuse him. In the Epilogue Dave writes about his experience as an adult and loving father to his son Stephen. He recalls one special family vacation spot that he talked about in “Good Times”, 17426 Riverside Drive, Guerneville, it’s his happy place. Him and his son stand and watch the sun as it’s sets and Dave starts crying tears of joy because he would not want to be anywhere else but there.

I can’t imagine how Dave survived being put through hell by his mother. While I was reading the worst of the abuse sections I just want ped to find this “Mother” and give her a piece of my mind.

I do not have any personal connections to this book but I could never imagine going through abuse like this. I would have been dead by the end of the book because I would not be able to survive the terrible abuse. I was never abused as a child and I am so thankful that I wasn’t. I know several people who were and they are permanently scarred for the rest of their.

The sad fact about child abuse is that it is still going on today and will misty likely will exist when we are gone. Most children aren’t as lucky as Dave was and they are not able to escape from their abusive parents. In more serious cases Dave was pretty lucky to make it through his childhood some kids are killed by their parents.
