The Emancipation Proclamation And The Trail Of Tears
A historical turning point is a significant event in history that has led to lasting change. Many historical turning points have taken place in history; some minor, and others life changing. Some examples of turning points in history include the Emancipation Proclamation, and the Trail of Tears. Both of these events resulted in major outcomes that can be considered both positive and negative.

The Emancipation Proclamation took place in 1863 under the presidency of Abraham Lincoln. This document declared that all slaves in the south of America were free. For some people this was a negative event because they no longer had the right to hold slaves, but for the slaves this was life changing. This document later led to the freeing of slaves
