THE EFFECTS OF ENVIRONMENT ON PERSONALITY OF AN INDIVIDUAL

Personality can be defined as a dynamic and organized characteristic that was acquired by a person on its environment. The environment of a person has a huge impact on his or her personality that can affect cognitions, emotions, interpersonal orientations motivations, and behaviors in different situation. Most of us are dependent on our environment; we find different ways on how we can cope up to our surroundings. In various situations we find our selves influenced by our environment. It also affects our social relation, feelings, expectations, values and attitudes in different ways. The environments of an individual are very much different from one another and also their effect. We are all raised in different ways, surroundings that’s why our personality is unique or different from each other. There are so many Environmental traits that affects our personality, but this study mainly focused on four types of trait; School, Society, Home and Church. These four kinds of environment has a bug impact on individuals personality, whether it has an positive or negative effect on our personality it is our choice which one of these four traits affects us most.

Human behavior is largely determined by environment. It determines that our behavior is mostly learned or adopted on our environment. Most of us were influenced by our surroundings, in that way we learn new thing and discover our hidden personality by means of different kind of atmosphere.
