The body of the founder and former leader of the drug cartel La Familia Michoacana was one of four discovered early this morning at a toll booth on the Siglo 21 freeway between Uruapan and Cuatro Caminos in Michoacán.
Carlos Rosales Mendoza, known as “El Tísico” or “El Carlitos,” founded the cartel in the 1980s. An alliance with the Gulf Cartel, led by friend and associate Osiel Cárdenas Guillén, led to a merger of the two organizations.
Rosales’ body showed signs of severe torture when it was found in the parking lot of the Santa Casilda toll booth. All four bodies had been dumped there. The drug lord had been released from prison in May 2014 after serving 10 years on organized crime charges. He was arrested again the following August on

Due to systematic racial exclusion from the economy during and immediately after the colonial period in Trinidad and Tobago, the majority of business owners at the formation of the Colombian drug cartels belonged to one of the following ethnicities: Syrian/Lebanese or East Indian. With international business connections and arrangements typically falling along racial, and sometimes familial lines, the primary cartels (Cali and Medellin) employed ethnically homogenous networks of traffickers to transport their product from Colombia to the United States. The Medellin cartel utilized a network of descendents of Syrian and Lebanese immigrants who came to the Caribbean at the start of the 20th century, some of whom Figueria alleges in Cocaine and Heroin trafficking in the Caribbean came to Trinidad to expand their heroin trafficking empire. The Cali cartel employed a similar network of Indians, whose ancestors came to the islands during British rule, and enjoyed a privileged position over the Afro-Trinidadian and Tobagonian slaves they replaced as indentured servants. While the bulk of the profits from the cocaine trade ultimately found their way back to Colombia, the networks of Syrian/Lebanese and Indian traffickers grew to great relative wealth for their participation in the market.…

He was the first to supply cocaine because Carlos Lehder, pioneer of cocaine traffic, knew him. He used techniques that had never been used before. He was part of Medellìn cartel; the richest cartel in the 70's and 80's who had a company-like organization. However, because of being too ambitious, he attracted problems towards him and that marked the end of his drug empire. It is estimated that his cartel wealth was over $28 billion. Today, drugs are everywhere, and not everybody knows that there is a huge organization behind it. Most of the people would think that the drugs are directly supplied to the distributor, and the distributor sells it right away. In addition, the drug business could get a man rich very quickly but these days it is getting harder and harder to do big business with drugs. Currently, the United States is spending over 20 billion dollars against drugs, but it does not seem to help anything. Many government officials said that the DEA could have stopped the cocaine business when it started, but nobody really knows why they did not try to stop…

The Almighty Latin King Nation is a American street gang founded in Chicago in 1940, and active mostly in Chicago. Latin King documents reveal a man by the name "Gino Gustavo Colon" (a.k.a. Lord Gino) is considered the "SUN" of the Almighty Latin King Nation in Chicago and has been for a long time. Latin King headquarters is located on Beach and Spaulding in Northwest Chicago. Luis Felipe created the manifesto for the Almighty Latin King and Queen Nation (ALKQN) based on teachings he had picked up from his time in Chicago, the "motherland." Felipe designated himself as Inca and Supreme Crown. In 1995 Antonio Fernandez was designated Inca and Supreme Crown of New York State and New Jersey, and the ALKQN once again began a transformation. The Almighty Latin King and Queen Nation is the largest Chicago-based street gang in the United States. The Almighty Latin King Nation first emerged in Chicago during the 1940s when several young Puerto Rican males organized into a club. Their goal was to help each other overcome the problems of racism and prejudice that newly arriving Puerto Rican immigrants were experiencing. The Latin Kings are Chicago's largest gang and have been involved in numerous violent acts. Although the original members were of Puerto Rican decent, most members are now Mexican-American. They now allow members of all races to join, yet they are mostly composed of Spanish, Caribbean, Latvian, Italian, Portuguese, Mexican or South American members. As time progressed, the group's members became involved in violent crimes including murders, drug trafficking and robberies.…

American citizens who are elitist and ignorant are numb to the real experiences that Latinos undergo. Somewhere south of the border, a man was just killed for trespassing enemy territory. Who killed him and what was the motive? The killer will remain the same; a member of a drug-cartel. However, the motive depends on the person you ask. The American citizens who have not been exposed to the topic of cartel-related violence will immediately respond that Mexicans are innately violent so killings such as this are expected from them. While the current social narrative is that Latinos are inherently violent, adopting a new economic perspective to this that accepts that violence is only a byproduct of capitalism will lead us to solve the…

The Roman Catholic Church is something my family and I are familiar with. In Los Angeles I went to a co-ed Catholic school called St. Eugene. Crime in Mexico has existed for years now, but it became more noticeable during the time of Pablo Escobar. At one point in history he was the main transporter for Cocaine coming directly from Colombia. As enforcement agencies kicked up their efforts to stop this drug trade, especially in Florida, Escobar formed a partnership with Mexico-based traffickers to transport their drugs through Mexico and into the United States. Miguel Angel Felix Gallardo is known as “The Godfather” of the Cartels seeing how he established the Guadalajara Cartel, which is recognized as the first Mexican cartel and were the first to link up with Escobar to transport cocaine through Mexico. It is said that once Mexico became involved in the drug trade with Colombia it opened a door for Mexico to become independent and they began to branch out on their own. After a while the Guadalajara Cartel took a heavy blow when one of its members was arrested, so it was decided to split it up into three separate groups. As a result the Tijuana, Juarez, Gulf, and Sinaloa Cartel came to exist, after that it was a domino effect and the fight for…
