1. what the symbol represents and...
2. in what ways it is connected to an important thematic conflict. Support your ideas with examples.
(Note you may choose a thematic conflict other than fear vs. courage or denial vs. acceptance.)

Avoid looking at other resources to do this. I am interested in your own ideas, based on our reading, discussion and notes.
