Review The Day After Tomorrow, starring Dennis Quaid, Emmy Rossum, Jake Gyllenhaal is a new entertaining disaster movie written and produced by Ryan Ellis, who resorted to any shock tactic to make the audience gasp. Studio Twentieth Century Fox made a mega-budget film, that is a given, it become a hard act to follow. It hit the screen in 2004 and even today it will have you on the edge of your seat. The plot is extraordinary and gripping. The action began with Dennis Quaid stars as Jack Hall, a renowned meteorologist following a mission to explain to the world's leaders that they need to change their ways now in order to preserve the planet for tomorrow. When Hall is contacted by his colleague, who explains that, there are sudden and intimidating unexplained drops in temperature in the North Atlantic, it can only mean one thing - the world is on the edge of a new ice age. In the film, an abrupt climate change created by global warming quickly leads to catastrophic effects of “biblical proportions” on the entire planet. Effects range from giant hailstones in Tokyo and tornado in Los Angeles to the climax—another ice age in the Northern Hemisphere. Weather phenomena of such enormous scale allowed the filmmakers to create unforgettable images—multiple tornadoes ripping through skyscrapers and a tsunami-like wave plunging the Statue of Liberty and its just a few examples. In the midst of global chaos, however, the film focuses on the desperate efforts of climatologist Jack Hall, who swims against the tide to find his son who has been trapped in a frozen New York City in a public library with a several other survivors—among them are two employees from the library. To stay warm, the survivors and the library personnel begin to burn some books in a fireplace. To sum it up, it was a fight tooth and nail against the nature but at the end of the day everything resolves itself more or less happily, the protagonist and his family, seemingly, were born with a silver...
