The Crusades Influence On The Holocaust
You are a Jew, every day you wake up to a scream in your ear and the worry of death is always hanging on your shoulder. Every night the thought to even close your eyes is dreadful to the next moment you may be killed. Work for 12-14 hours a day and a struggle to get food makes you so tired until you faint. Can you even imagine a life like that? The holocaust was mainly started because of the ingrained anti semitism in Germany and other countries. Anti semitism was started way back in the 1090’s from the Crusades and got stronger and stronger from WWI and German Superiority.

Have you heard of the Crusades before? Well if you haven’t the Crusades were a group of people that believed strongly in the Christian religion. They had big crusades around Europe giving Jews and Muslims the choice to either convert or die. The first crusade was in 1096. They burned the Jews and Muslims alive leaving 5,000 victims and 1,000 deaths. The Crusades also had a big influence on the Holocaust. The crusades started anti semitism which led to the anti semitism during the Holocaust. The crusades …show more content…
When a war between Austria-Hungary and Serbia broke out, the other countries in Europe, or elsewhere, that had alliances with them joined to defend the two countries. Then the countries that had alliances with those countries joined and so on. When Germany lost in WWI it put shame on the country. Since Germany was upset by their loss they decided to blame it on the Jews and fire back. They claimed they lost because of betrayal of alliance. Germany's thought of payback wasn’t just another war but ended up resulting in the Holocaust. They wanted to get rid of the German race to prove they were better. At first they tried “expelling” the Jews from Germany but after that didn’t work the Germans felt the need to exterminate them. Germany mainly targeted the Jews because they were jealous that the Jews were more successful in life and in the war than Germany

This book tells us how Jews were punished with out no reason and how things could of ended if they would of seen that everybody is the same for this reason people should read “Night” and read what Jews went through those horrible years.
