The cow is a four-footed domestic animal. She has two eyes, two horns, two ears and a long tail. There is a tough of hair at the end of the tail. Her body is covered with soft and short hair. She has teeth only in lower jaw. Her hoofs are divided. There are many kinds of cows. They also differ in color. Some are black, some white, some red and some are mixed colors. Cows of one country differ from those of another country in shape and size. The cows found almost in all country of the world. Wild cows live in the jungles.The cow lives on grass. She also eats oil-cakes, rice bran, leaves and straw.

The cow is gentle animal. She gives birth to one calf at a time. She is very fond of her calf. The cow chews the cud. The cow is very useful animals. She gives us milk, butter, curd, cheese and many other sweet things are made of milk. The male cow is called the bull or ox. He draws the cart and the plough. Farmers plant their land by plough. Many farmers depend on milk of cows. They sell the milk and live with his family. Shoes and bags are made from a cow’s hide, combs, buttons and handles of knives are made from her bones. The flesh of cow is very healthy food. We should take care of such useful animal and be kind to her. In her weakness we should give her medicine also.
