The Cookie

One day Maya came into work and found a cookie mysteriously placed on her desk. Grateful to whoever left this anonymous cookie, she ate it. The next morning she came in and found another cookie. This continued for months until one day a different object is left–and this time there’s a note.
The note reads: Dearest Maya, I’ve been watching you for awhile now. I’m so thrilled to finally get in touch with you. I have an ornament for you. This particular ornament has been in our family for years, so I want you to have it. I have placed the ornament in a box underneath your desk.
Signed,
Robert Patterson Maya was puzzled. Robert Patterson is her father’s name, whom is dead. He died five years ago because of cancer.

I am honestly not sure who you are. Are you my dad, uncle, or just messing around with me? However, whoever you are I want to know. I have found that you live about 126 miles away from me! I thought we could meet up sometime soon. If so, give me a call and we can make an arrangement.
Best Regards,
Maya Patterson Maya had drove to the post-office to mail the letter. Afterward, she went to the local cafe to grab a bite to eat and continue with research. Online she searched his name (like she done a million times before). But she found something new this time. She started to panic! What if she had seemed too direct and commanding? What if he doesn’t reply back? A month passed, still no word. Maya was so lost! She just sat in her apartment alone with nobody to talk to about the situation she was in. She had moved away from family for her job, so she couldn’t have any communication with them. Considering her mother’s phone line had been cut, Maya couldn’t even talk to her! After work a few nights later, Maya had discovered a letter in her mailbox. The letter was replying to hers. It said that Robert Patterson had passed away, but had left her his entire possessions to her. He had million and millions of dollars. But why? We never actually

That’s just great. My niece decided to leave her children here. I don't remember seeing a sign in front of my house designating it as a daycare center. It's not a place where you drop your children off on date night. I'm not a free babysitter. I am a grown man and I am getting tired of this. Therefore, I'm going to tell you all a story about me. One that I hope you tell your parents. Maybe then they'll stop dropping you off here and my future will have fewer interruptions. I rather be watching baseball god dammit.…

even witty. Smelled like cigarettes, probably since he also took up smoking since 14 years old, the stress of living in Yokeman can do that to you. At first he hung with out with us, and over time... he started keeping his distance. Then, half a year before graduation he just disappeared. Ryan dropped out of school, not even keeping contact with anyone. It was rumored that his family moved out of state, but at that point I thought he was the luckiest man alive to get out of this place. I used to catch him trying to make eye contact with me, but would turn his head away the moment my eyes look back at him, or he notices the moment I turn my head around he faces the ground or elsewhere assuming I didn’t notice him checking me out. Perhaps…

The room smelled like vanilla and everything was very tidy like most expected mothers houses usually are. Mrs. Johnson is a long time friend so I notice the excitement in here eyes to talk to me about her new addition. She said that nobody has ever wanted to write about her feeling of her pregnancy and with two other children excited to have an adult to talk too. We sat down on her couch and she turned toward me eager to know what I was going to ask.…

One day, as usual, Mark sat on his desk and started working. Ten days had passed but his research still went nowhere. Suddenly, an idea crossed his mind. He immediately stood up, ran to his “laboratory” – a large space near the corner of the room where he used to do experiments – and then spent a whole day in there. It was not until the nightfall that he stopped to find something to eat and right after that, he came back to work again. After many hours conducting experiments, he finally felt an incredible sense of relief. With a new research on his hands, Mark went towards the telephone and made a phone call to Annie. He hurriedly dialed her telephone. Mark was so excited that he spoke right after the receiver had picked the phone up. “Hi Ann! I know that it is very late now but I really want to tell you an important thing.” Mark went to the…
