The Controversy Of Rewarding A Student
Rewarding a student encourages them, it also shows them how much their handwork is appreciated. Some people agree with paying and rewarding students but there are the others that disagree with it. Some believe that a student should want to learn instead of being paid to learn. I believe that there should be nothing wrong with rewarding a student whether it is with money, a party, or a small gift. There should be no problem, because once a child finishes their education, they use that education to complete a paying job. So rewarding them while it's early, will motivate them to want a job.

    Students are more likely to work towards something and are extremely motivated if they know that they are going to get some type of reward. It’s like teachers the reward is knowing that our students are growing and learning. ( Corpus& Wilson, 2001), I truly believe that any positive motivation results into something even greater that takes us higher and farther in life. An example of this is a present motivational strategy that is being used at my school regarding awards for good attendance, good grades, good behavior and good citizenship. Students get awards a couple times throughout the semester for accomplishing these sections and truly believe that motivates students to keep with it. I have seen this in effect that when a students gets a grade lower than a A they will try their best to raise it to be part of that reward system so that their parents will know and they get recognized in front of the school with an amazing reward . I have personally seen the motivation that is created by these awards and I plan to include this in my motivational plan as well. We also have awards that are also very successful when it comes to motivating and teachers do this all the times when it comes motivating students and they has nothing to do with rewards.     I believe that children should not be paid for good grades for several reasons. First of all, To get good grades depend on how each student learns and handles with the result he or she will receive at last. According to Sylvia Rimm, a child psychologist, money does not play an important role in achievement but consistency does. To illustrate, successful students always try to maintain their scores with unchangeable effort while others who once fail give up easily because they believe that there is no second chance to get rewards and compliment.
