The computer as the most wondrous technological invention of the 20th century Since the beginning of human era we have always tried to obtain machines to make our lives easier. Before the computer was invented people did boring tasks that we now take as they are. No one can deny the fact that computers play a very effective and important role in our lives. Many of us spend a lot of hours in front of computer working or using it just for fun. But still as any thing, PCs have their pros and cons. To the pluses of using a computer I may consider that it is very convenient, you can use it for doing a lot of tasks. The cons of a PC are that people became lazier and that the machines replace people at their working places. Now I will be specific on each pro and con. Firstly, the pluses. Nowadays computers became an essential part of our lives. We use them almost everywhere: while preparing for our lessons or searching a new film in the Internet or making a presentation about the work which you have done. The computer actually makes our lives easier. You don’t need a lot of paper while writing an essay for example. You may just delete an inappropriate thought and not throw away the whole sheet of paper. Today a laptop is the most widely used type of a computer. It is very convenient – you may take it everywhere you want because it does not take much place. For example if you are travelling by plane you may use your laptop for watching a film, and then the flight will seem to you shorter. The latest statistic data by Hewlett-Packard (an American multinational information technology corporation) says that to date people buy 63,5% of laptops. The rest is for PCs. As we see modern people prefer the convenience of using portable computers because of their busy lifestyle. They don’t have much time to sit at one place.
