Because in the story Alice Walker has Celie go through many obstacles throughout the whole book. Having her go through a roller coaster of emotions from being sad in the beginning, to all the way to the end of the book where Celie is feeling alive with happiness. Not all the time you’re going be happy. As a matter of fact, when you’re feeling down, you just going to have to live through it.
