The Clifton Strength: Personal Narrative
Strengths Development Paper The Clifton Strengths Quest results provided me with my five top strengths, which are: Strategic, Woo, Futuristic, Communication, and Maximizer. These five strengths describe my personality, my way of thinking and actions I take when in certain situations, such as being a helper in church or being a friend in school and all of my strengths can help me with relationships such as friends or family, in academics when doing homework, in preparing for career like applying to an internship, and/or in my spiritual life when being receptive to the God’s word. The most common areas in my life where I use my strengths the most would be my house, school and church. I am strategic in my house when it comes to doing chores …show more content…
Being strategic will allow me to make time to do all that I need and also share some time with God, this strength would also allow me to organize some events at church so that the people are more blessed in the event. By letting God use my Woo strength by helping my fellow Christian sisters and brothers in finding how to use their knowledge, talents and skills for God’s kingdom, He will provide me with a feeling of joy and completeness which will increase my love towards Him and His ways. By being futuristic I not only inspire myself to keep on going in faith but also the rest of my Christian community and the ministries by inspiring future events and future actions. By being gifted in the strength of communication I am able to have a natural flow of speech when talking to God about my feelings, situations and so one, this strength also helps me benefit the kingdom by speaking of the Gospel to people that surround me. Finally, the strength of maximizer helps me make a group in church or of Christian friends work together and efficiently, this helps the Christian community by having a stable and productive group of Christians share and be a testimony of the Gospel. All of my strengths in a way or another either help me grow or help me help others

I have many strengths as well as areas to grow in, some of them overlap as both a strength and an area of growth. One of my strengths is trying hard to get any job put in front of me done no matter what it may be. Another is the inability to say no to anything someone asks me to do such as pick up a shift at work or can you help them at home. This one is as much an area of growth as it is a strength. Some areas of growth that I am focusing on improving include being more patient and not speaking too much.…

After completing the StregthsQuest survey, I learned that my five greatest strengths are Harmony, Competition, Achiever, Includer, and Communication. Some of these strengths I had previously recognized as a strength, but a few were a surprise to me. Growing up, I was always a competitive person. I enjoyed the thrill of winning, whether it be in a team effort or individual effort. Also, I have always wanted to achieve great things in both my personal and professional life. I believe that I have always been great at communicating with others and love to include others in everything that I do to achieve a goal. The biggest strength of mine that surprised me most was Harmony. However, after reading about each strength, I know how I have utilized…

In many cases, people find it difficult to label or categorize their natural talent. Because one is unaware of their natural talents, he or she experiences. During Gallup’s research on identifying talents, they discovered Throughout the course of Clifton’s work on studying talents, they discovered that the majority of people do not have careers that purse their natural talents (Rath, 2007). Out of 10 million people they surveyed, 7 million people were not engaged at work. When these individuals were not able to use their strengths they reported to dread going to work, have more negative than positive interactions with colleagues, treat customers poorly, tell friends what a miserable company they work for, achieve less on a daily basis, and have fewer positive, creative moments in the workplace (2007). To fix these problems, Clifton created a measuring tool in 1999 to categorize and identify talents. First, Clifton wanted to base his research on what is right with people instead of one’s weakness. Based upon previous tests, Clifton started studying work environments and how measuring one’s raw talents could be developed into strengths. He states that a talent is a “naturally recurring patterns of thought, feeling, or behavior that can be productively applied” (Harter, Hodges & Lopez, 2005). Next, he states that strength is an extension of a talent. In other words, if one has the gift of communicating well, then with practice, he can develop his talent for talking into a personal strength such as public speaking.…

Another strength value is using my sense of sensibility when addressing problems in the community; this is according to my ethical lens results. I am in the middle on these results, I believe that you must use sensibility but also need to be rational. If I was to favor one over the other it would have to be rationality. One strength attribute that I appreciate a whole lot is the tradition strength. I think this strength can go a long way of helping myself and others out, being able to learn from others that have been in my position and analyzing their decisions benefits me. Some may overlook this attribute; I on the other hand value this trait and have been taught this attribute from an early age and then again in the…

What are Strengths? This question is one that I did not have the answer to or even respond. When classes started, I knew that everyone had strengths, but I never knew how to go about and find what makes me unique out of seven billion people in the world. Then as I was reading the results, it was surprisingly accurate with my personality. My five results were Achiever, Intellection, realtor, learner, and input. Reading the description for each word made me reflect on how I was using these five themes in my current life. My top five strengths for the strength finder test were deliberate, adaptability, maximize arranger, and consistency. For once I can say I’m actually satisfied with a computerized test about myself. One thing I can say about my results from this strength finder it’s a lot more accurate when it comes to the qualities I posses. My results do not match up close to previous held beliefs about myself. I am typically seen as the kind of person to play the leadership role in just about anything. The point of view from others of me being a leader is completely off, I feel the complete opposite. I am more of an observer, and I learn from not only the mistakes of others, but mine as well. The vocal portion of leadership is what I am not too fond. I could lead with actions, but vocally I’m not as sharp. Not only that, but I generally go off simply instincts, and not what is planned. Maximizing my strengths can happen in various ways. Arranger is a strength that can be maximized by more preparation and better using more time for organization. I believe there’s no such thing as being over prepared. Adaptability is a strength I could improvise on by being aware with a lot more situations so when the time comes I will be able to adapt in the best way possible. All of the strengths of mine can be maximized by me realizing what makes that strength of mine and not focusing on my weaknesses. The more I focus on my weaknesses the more ill back track. An individual cannot build performance on weaknesses, but one can on strength. Majority of the fields in business best suit my strengths. In a business environment consistency is huge. The more consistent person gains the most respect. The more consistent you are, the more reliable you’ll be seen as. If you’re seen as more reliable by your co workers they’ll enjoy your presence. Blind spots may result from overextending the maximize strength. You can by overextending the maximize strength by simply over…
