The City Of Ember Essay
I am writing my essay on The City of Ember By Jeanne Duprau. It is an excellent book with many twists and turns that keep you reading. This book is staged in the wonderful city of Ember the only light in an endless darkness. The main character is Lina Mayfleet who is a young spirited girl who loves to explore. The plot is about how Ember is dying and only one note which Lina finds can save them all. Remember if you intend to read the book there will be more spoilers if you continue forward.
The City of Ember is of course where the book is staged. This place is dark and cold but the people don't seem to mind. The only thing outside is the endless darkness and for the longest time the lights of Ember have kept it away but the lights have started to flicker and even have times where they go out for a while. There are three main sections of Ember which the book explores. The pipeworks full of unmapped areas, bugs, the plumbing system(duh) and we can't forget the precious generator on which all hope lies. Then the main neighborhood which contains everyone's homes and the school. And lastly the storehouse and the gathering hall which don't really need any more explanation. The setting is underground in the City of Ember the last light in the endless darkness in tunnels and courtyards. I hope you liked this summary of the City of Ember.
