The Character Of Joh John In The Yellow Wallpaper

Character is the way a person acts emotional or physical in which their qualities distinct that individual from others. In the yellow wallpaper by charlotte Perkins Gilman the narrator is suffering from postpartum depression. In the beginning John who is the narrator husband move to a colonial mansion with her just for her own good which is for her to feel better from her depression. In the mansion there is a wallpaper that every time the narrator looks at it, she sees a woman stuck in the paint trying to escape from the wallpaper. The narrator is a sympathetic character, since she let her husband take control of her life as if she were a baby. At the same time she becomes a dynamic character when she is by her self do to the fact that she do everything she loves which is to write in her a private journal that she hides from John just because he hates to see her doing any physical activity, and also she would love to try to discover what does the wallpaper means.
He is a sympathetic guy; his character is different from the narrator he takes too much care for her not allowing the narrator to be herself. There is a famous quote by Abraham Lincoln that is “Nearly all men can stand adversity, but if you want to test a man’s character, give him power”, John has all the power in his hand to do anything he wants to do with the narrator, he even don't want any body to visit her until she gets better. The only person who is she allowed to talk and see is john
