The Character Arya Stark In Game Of Thrones
Out of all the characters in the series “Game of Thrones”, the character, I feel the most connected with is Arya Stark. When King Robert decides to try to make her father, Eddard Stark, the king’s hand, Arya is shown as a misunderstood tomboy who hates all the pressures that come with being a lady. (Song of ice and fire) I have felt the same way at most times. After witnessing her father’s death and being shipped off to Winterfell to be with her brothers, she meets a member of the faceless men, Jaqen H'ghar – at least the man with his face. H’ghar convinces Arya to become an assassin; this and revenge drives Arya to do most of the things she does throughout the show and books. (Clash of kings) Personally, assassins are my favorite character

In January 1693, while still in jail, Elizabeth (Bassett) Proctor gave birth to a son, John Proctor III. Elizabeth and John III remained in jail until May 1693, when a general release freed all of those prisoners who remained jailed. Unfortunately, even though the general belief of the people was that innocent people had been wrongly convicted, Elizabeth had in fact been convicted and was considered guilty. In the eyes of the law she was considered a "dead woman" and could not claim any of her husband's estate. Elizabeth petitioned the court for a reversal of attainder to restore her legal rights. No action was taken for seven years. In June 1696, Elizabeth filed an appeal to contest her husband's will. At the time John wrote his will, he had assumed that Elizabeth would be executed and had left her nothing. On September 22, 1696 Elizabeth married again to Daniel Richards. In July 1703, several more people filed petitions before any action was taken on Elizabeth’s appeal for reversal of attainder. The Massachusetts House of Representatives finally passed a bill disallowing spectral evidence. However, they only gave reversal of attainder for those who had filed petitions. This basically applied to only two people – Elizabeth Proctor and Rebecca Nurse. In 1705, another petition was filed requesting a more equitable settlement for those wrongly accused. In 1709, the General Court received a request to take action on this proposal. In May 1709, 22 people who had been convicted of witchcraft, or whose parents had been convicted of witchcraft, presented the government with a petition in which they demanded both a reversal of attainder and compensation for financial losses. On October 17, 1711, the General Court passed a bill reversing the judgment against the 22 people listed in the 1709 petition. There were still an additional 7 people who had been convicted, but had not signed the petition. There was no reversal of attainder for them.…

In the show Orphan Black, Tatiana Masalany did a great job playing different characters. None of them are alike and you can see that by not just the clothes and make up, but they all have different type of personality. They move differently, speak differently, etc. if it wasn’t because of the fact that they all look the same, nobody would ever guess that the same person is playing all of them. They’re completely different people.…

I adored the character, Jeffery. Although he did not play a major role in solving the murder of Laura, he was my favorite. Everything that came out of his mouth was sassy and I loved it. You made him a phenomenal comic relief. If you took him out of the book, I would not have enjoyed it as much as I did.…

Holden is terrified to make a connection with someone knowing that the people he love often abandon him: Allie, D.B., his parents. “Where do the ducks go?” is a question that he often asks to the taxi driver. This is a symbol of growth and maturity because he can see that not everything will leave forever like Allie. The ducks will come back and so will the people in his life. Holden thinks he wants to find someone to share intimacy with but truly what he needs is a good friend, someone who he can talk. This person in the novel is his sister the one who he truly cares about Phoebe. She is like a rock for him, even though she is much younger than him she acts as the adult in the relationship. She helps him grow and mature into a young adult. Unlike Holden, Creon is in love with power. He puts his love for his country above the love for his family He'd rather kill Antigone to uphold his law and win the respect (or fear) of people of Thebes than pardon his niece and one of his last living relatives. When he sends Antigone to her death he has an argument with his son Haemon. Creon is now killing the love of his son’s life for his own love of power. He tries to take back what he has done but it is to late, Antigone, Heamon, and Eurydice are now dead. Creon had cause his own son and wife to die because of his love for power. Love helps develop the theme…

One of my favorite characters was Josh, since he is one of the only characters that seems to act of his own free will, ignoring the attitudes and beliefs of those around him, and giving the appearance of being free from the restraints of the racial inequality that surround the African-Americans in the story. Josh would rather die than be subservient and treated like an animal. I at first found this admirable but was later sad to read that his hatred got the…

Viola Frey was an American ceramics artist who was known first and foremost for her larger than life sculptures. Viola’s purpose behind these giant figures was to show the world (mainly the art world) that there was more to sculpting clay than small figures, bowls, and cups. In the 1960s and 70s a group of artists, including Viola Frey, wanted to create ceramics as a effective form of art. This movement was called the “Revolution in Clay”. Before this movement the standard of the art of clay was revolved around smaller scale pieces and objects like bowls, vases, and cups. This “standard” left the ceramics division of art in the dark, and it wasn’t something that people wanted to get into because it didn’t seem too challenging or exciting. The people involved in this revolution used different ways to overcome this expectation or standard. They began using new techniques in order to push the typical size scale of sculptures up. They discovered new methods for constructing, firing, and glazing that changed the department of ceramics completely. For example, Viola Frey, along with the other artist that changed the department of ceramics, introduced the idea of building in pieces and using a scaffold on the inside of the figure to hold the entire piece together. Frey struggled when it came to making her pieces because she was old and had some physical limitations. Her assistant of 17 years, Sam Perry, helped her put her crazy ideas together and help the construction process when she couldn’t do it. Her physical limitations were never an excuse for her not being able to build these larger than life sculptures. Her time spent in her studio when she was busy coming up with new ideas and constructing her pieces helped her forget about her physical setbacks, and kept her chugging along. Frey’s sculptures exceeded the size expectations in the clay world. Each of her pieces stood no shorter than 10 feet tall and weighed thousands of pounds. In order to build her figures, Frey…

Arya Stark is a bonafide tomboy. In the first episode of the show, Arya is watching her brother bran practice with his bow and arrow. When Bran goes to take a shot after being teased by his brothers, Arya shoots from several feet behind Bran and makes a bullseye. The entire time I was reading this I was thinking “This is me!” When my family would go to the beach, I would go with my stepdad and uncle and follow them far out into the ocean while my mom and sisters stayed closer to shore. As a kid, I would constantly play in the dirt and with bugs and other creepy crawlies, I could find. Sansa, during season one and the early part of season two, would constantly tell Arya that she was being un-lady like. (Game of Thrones). Arya’s father even said, “Ah, Arya.…

If I were to choose one of the characters from Hamlet it would be the main character, Hamlet. For centuries he continues to amaze and fascinate its readers, perhaps because of the mysteriousness of his character, as well as the relevance of the topics covered in his monologues. His famous monologue beginning with "to be or not to be ...", is probably the most cited page in the history of literature. Hamlet is an enigmatic character, and even the most astute reader may say that he/she hasn’t really understood the character, and the reasons for which it acts .the speeches and actions of Hamlet lend themselves to numerous interpretations.…

I believe that out of all the characters in William Shakespeare 's Hamlet, Horatio, has the most potential. What I mean by potential is that Horatio would make the best real person if he were not a character within the play. Besides Horatio, every other character seems to have some kind of major flaw or weakness in comparison. Claudius is obviously power hungry and only concerned with himself. Gertrude, although means well, is portrayed as betraying King Hamlet by sleeping with Claudius. Polonius is sneaky and likes to speak on everything he hears. Laertes strikes Hamlet and winds up killing him with poison. Ophelia is so dependent on her father that she goes into a disarray and eventually kills herself. And Hamlet, who is second to Horatio in terms of potential, hurts himself by seeking revenge and killing unarmed Polonius for no real reason. Horatio proves to be the most likable character because he sticks by Hamlets side the entire story, and offers advice and companionship, rather than obsessing about his own well-being.…
