The Causes Of The Civil War
The causes of the Civil War has been a topic debated for years because there were many causes of the Civil War that were interlaced together to produce the most devastating war in American History. The primary cause of the Civil War was the expansion of slavery and sectionalism. Although, Southerners believe the Civil War was fought over state rights but the real issue that led to the disruption of the union, however, was the debate over the future of slavery. That dispute led to secession, and secession brought war. There was tension between the North and the South over slavery in the west, and industrial and territorial differences between the two areas. The South asserted their constitutional right to secede from the Union to preserve slavery,

    The Civil War had many causes, some of them were long term causes and some of them were immediate causes. The long term causes were the problems that seemed to never be solved between the North and South. Slavery for instance was a long term problem because it was never completely solved; however continuous compromises were made between both sides, but the disagreements would not disappear.
