The Boy Who Harnessed The Wind Analysis
When I was seven I went snowboarding every Saturday with my friend. One day my friend told me that we could get to the park quicker if we took the other lift and then go down a hill. My friend didn’t tell me that it was a black diamond and it was my 2nd year of snowboarding. I looked down the hill and I saw the park, but the slope was basically straight down. So I went down it with my friend, but while turning, my edge of my board got wedged into the side of the mountain and my board was basically perpendicular to the slope. All I had to do was push my feet away from the snow, but I stood there for 20 minutes seeing my life flash before my eyes. Although William in The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind, was a very smart kid very different than me, he used his education to get himself out of sticky situations. Similarly, according to the NY Times article the doctors refused to help the patients even though they had the education to help them. Education is the pathway to success. For many People and William, the main character of The Boy who Harnessed the wind, education was very unique and life changing because it was self-education. When I was seven I needed the education to get out of the situation I was in. Education can help in any situation no matter what it is. The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind, and When Doctors Refuse to Treat AIDS are very different and similar. The article talks about doctors refusing to treat AIDS knowing they won’t get infected, and the book talks about a the life of an uneducated, but curious kid.
