The Bichon: A Description Of The Devon Rex
ORIGIN (COUNTRY):
The Devon Rex was originally founded in England, but is now located all over the world.

APPEARANCE:
The head on the Devon Rex is a triangular shape. The eyes are large in proportion to the head, and are set low on the head. The ears are “butterfly” like and are extremely large. The coat of the Devon Rex is extremely short and curly. It is very fragile, so fragile that grooming can cause the fur to break completely. The whiskers are also very fragile, as they also get broken. The Devon Rex can be found in a selection of colors including: black, blue, brown, champagne, chestnut, chocolate, cinnamon, cream, fawn, frost, lavender, platinum, red, seal, and white.

USE:
In the 19th century the Bichon was used as a circus performer, and also as an organ grinder’s dog (street musician). Today the Bichon is used as a show dog and as a family pet.
APPERANCE:
The Bichon is a small, sturdy dog. The average dog height is 9-12inches, average weight is usually around 7-12 pounds. The skull of the Bichon is slightly rounded, the muzzle is short, and the eyes are black or brown. The ears of the Bichon are drooped and covered in long thin hairs. The soft coat on the Bichon is double coated and is soft to the touch. The coat is puffy and curly, and is non-shedding. The outer coat is coarser and curlier than the under coat. Coat colors for the Bichon don’t vary at all most Bichons are either white or an off white. The coat of the Bichon is also hypoallergenic.
DISTINCTIVE CHARACTERISTICS:
The Bichon loves human company, and are happiest when they are part of a family that takes the dog everywhere. Characteristics of the Bichon also include, they are very smart, loveable, bold, lively and have an independent spirit, and love human attention.
