The book, The Astounding Broccoli Boy by, Frank Cottrell Boyce narrates the insane encounters of a perplexed young boy after he becomes bright green on his seventh-grade trip.
Baffled as to what this symbolized, Rory believes he would soon become London's favorite superhero (because many amazing superheroes are green.) As he is dragged into one of England's safest nursing clinics, he is petrified to observe he would be forced to room with his arch-nemesis, who had suffered from a similar experience.
