The 38th Parallel Border

Korea separated into two different, opposite countries on September 8, 1945. On November 22nd, 1943 at the Cairo Conference, Russia, Britain and the U.S. who were allies of Korea agreed that Korea will soon become independent. The surrendering of Japan and the fall of the Nazi party is a cause of the division of Korea. In North Korea, the Russians supported and in South Korea, the U.S. supported. The 38th parallel border was formed so other countries could tell the difference between the two countries. In June, 1950 the Korean War had begun when North Korea went over the 38th parallel line and invaded South Korea.
