A couple of years ago cars were the greatest invention of mankind. People felt blessed

to have this mode of transportation and they were appreciative, too. However, the dawn

of 21st century brought about the communication revolution, which has put a cell phone

in every hand, in every pocket and in every bag. Thanks to technology, every person is

‘online’ all day and is connected to his or her acquaintance all the time.

People have gotten used to checking their phones multiple times throughout the day.

Although, it is illegal and extremely dangerous to use phones while driving, people don’t

think twice before doing it.

Texting while driving has overtook drunken driving as a leading cause for adolescent

death.

    On February 9, 2011, little Enzo Williams was traveling with his mother, father and his older sister, they had approached a red light and were at a complete stop waiting for the light to turn green, when from out of nowhere a SUV driving at a high rate of speed driven by Sydney Wright smashed into the back of their vehicle. Sydney Wright was texting what was claimed to be a short text message and took the life of this innocent little boy. Enzo’s mother, father, and sister walked away from the wreck as did the driver of the other vehicle Sydney. Enzo suffered a bruised windpipe and a skull fracture; he was transported by ambulance to the nearest hospital where he lived for two short days.     Imagine driving down the road where the sun is shining and the wind is blowing in your hair, you’re having a grand old time driving and then all of a sudden someone rams in the back of your car. This is the behavior of texting while driving is proven to be unsafe.
