Texas Aggie Code Of Honor Essay
“An Aggie does not lie, cheat, or steal, nor tolerate those who do.” This is the Aggie Code of Honor, that everyone attending Texas A&M should respect. An Aggie is the mascot for Texas A&M, not only one of the largest universities in the United States, but is also one of the top engineering schools in the nation, ranking fourteenth. Texas A&M was founded in 1876 which makes it one of the oldestcolleges in Texas. Furthermore, Texas A&M is a great school and when looking to go here one should consider all the options to study, the great opportunities, and the overall tuition. First, there is a lot of options to study at Texas A&M. I would want to major in aerospace engineering and math. Aerospace engineering is a rapidly changing field, …show more content…
This school has a very friendly environment, and that is rare seeing how sizable the school is and the variety of people that there are. Texas A&M is the fifth biggest school in the country, and from multiple sources it has been said to have a huge sense of togetherness. Another reason to go here is that it is very well known and I would take great pride in being an Aggie. It also is less expensive than a lot of colleges in Texas. Lastly the overall tuition and is altogether one of the most important aspects of college life. The expenses to attend college here, are much less costly than other schools. In fact Texas A&M is 49% cheaper than the average Texas tuition of $15,167 for four year colleges. The cost for instate residents is only $7,685 per year. Of course the cost is larger for out of state residents, including transportation and living expenses. Altogether once all factors are contemplated, the options to study, the great possibilities, and the low costs, I would definitely argue to go to Texas A&M. Not only would you receive a great education, but you will have a good time doing it. There are also a lot of famous people that here, like Dude Perfect, Johnny Manziel, Rick Perry, Von Miller and many more. I hope to go to Texas A&M to join this proud line of Aggies.

Going Back to Randolph-Macon being that it is a small college it has its advantages. One major advantage that it has is small classes. Having small classes give teachers time to meet one on one with you. Also teachers go more into depth on subjects and always change in class. There are less than 20 people in each of your classes. The academics are nationally known, which is a huge plus. You defiantly get a good degree by going there. The academics part is a major reason why I am applying to this school so I can expand my knowledge with a good degree and get a job after I am done with…

One thing that I greatly appreciated, when I was deciding which univeristy to attend, was how well Texas A&M expressed the Aggie Code of Honor. "Aggies do not lie, cheat, or steal or tolerate those who do." A very simple saying, but one that is heard and seen all around campus. It is tied to the university as much as the word "Howdy". It is great that this motto of academic integrity is already stiched to Texas A&M because its easier for professors and the university to promote academic integrity. Professors and the university need to continue to explicitly preach the Aggie Code of Honor throughout the semester as a reminder for students. Also one thing that students are not knowlegeable of are the consequences of acting acadebmically dishonest.…

In the wake of numerous cheating scandals, such as those at the University of Virginia and Harvard, many people have began to question the effectiveness of honor codes (sources C, D). Honor codes can be defined as a set of rules implemented in a school that are based around morals that define both acceptable and unacceptable behaviors. While many feel as though such guidelines are necessary in maintaining a schools’ dignity, others believe that honor codes are impossible to enforce. Honor codes should not be enforced because they are too harsh, unrealistic, and put innocent students in uncomfortable social situations.…

It is not a very crowded university, there are fewer students. It will be easier to go to class without a bunch of cars, people, and stallers.…

At CCG I am also able to play softball on a $4500 athletic scholarship. I am thankful for my scholarship and blessed to have the opportunity to move on and become a collegiate athlete. However, it still does not help pay for the rest of my college expenses which my parents cannot afford to help pay.
