Assumption 3: Test-related behavior predicts non-test related behavior. How concerning this assumption is to me at this time would be a 3. The part of this assumption that is most concerning to me is: “The tasks in some tests mimic the actual behaviors that the test user is attempting to understand. By their nature, however, such tests yield only a sample of the behavior that can be expected to be emitted under nontest conditions. The obtained sample of behavior is typically used to make predictions about future behavior, such as work performance of a job applicant” (Cohen, 2013, p. 122).
The assumption elements I have identified are based on a combination of my previous experiences, others’ perspectives, and facts. I have applied for jobs in the past few years which included taking a personality test as part of the application process. I felt that I was highly qualified for the positions that I had applied for because I had the education and/or training and work experience that was needed. I was not offered the jobs, and I felt it was because of the personality test that I took when I applied. The prospective employer decided that my personality did not fit in with the other employees or was not a good match for the position.

    When I was in the military taking this test was required once I reached senior levels. It was not used by anyone for evaluation or suitability purposes, but instead it was used for individual self-assessment. Each time I take the test my reaction is always the same.
