The front office manager should do the following to ensure that the ledger account does not become a bad debt: * Check the money that comes in from different departments to ensure that it balances and that it is banked. * Check foreign exchange rates by telephoning the bank to ensure that they are correct. * All staff member’s banking must be checked to ensure that credit cards over the limit have been authorised, the customer’s personal details must be on the cheques and the banking should balance. * He/she must assist account departments with any queries they have regarding the ledger accounts. * A daily pit check should be done as well as a clear out of any queries or old accounts that are waiting for payments. * All room charges are charged correctly to the customer’s account.
